I stopped receiving visits to my city today, and when I try to go to another city I get this Error message on the city page: INSERT INTO CityEvent (date,type,cityId) VALUES ('2009-07-23 21:58:48', 'birth', 1700390) Duplicate entry '2147483647' for key 1 Am I the only one? thanks for helping me |

As Ceymore says in the chatbox, the French version is working fine. It is just Myminicity that is not working. I do not know about their other games because I do not want to play them.
Does anyone have a hotline to Motion Twin? |

To a computer geek, the reason is clear. If you look at the message, you will spot: Duplicate entry '2147483647' for key 1 That large number is 2 to the power 31 -1, or in other words, the largest number you can store in a 32-bit database field. The MMC people evidently didn't think they would reach 2 billion views, but they have. The easiest fix would be to increase the field width to 64 bits, which would increase the highest number to 9223372036854775807 - over 4 billion times higher. The trouble is that they will probably have to re-write a lot of their code to incorporate the change, to say nothing of how long it will take their database to make the change. |
