Supermode extension not working | |
2010-09-11 10:22 | ironman | Hi, I've installed and read thru many times of the installation of supermode extension. When firefox restarted, and I tried to run the links under supermode mode, it still complaints about extension not found. Symptom: It displays "supermode x2" and after a while displays "extension not found" Any clues please from anyone? When I was using firefox 3.5.X, it was fine and working well. When I uodated it to firefox 3.6.9, it gave me this problem. Thanks |
2010-09-11 18:52 | des43t | I'm sorry, I don't have any ideas for you. Hopefully someone else will come along who has had this problem. |
2010-09-12 00:23 | ironman | Thanks des43t.
I've checked the add on on "extension" tab. It was looking for the file "ipconfig -renew". I've searched my PC and cannot find this file in its memory. Strange! But when I go thru' the installation again, the process claimed that I have installed the extension file. The question is "where is this ipconfig -renew file". If I can locate this file, I think I can solve this problem. Any one, Utopia web master, need your help please... |
2010-09-13 07:44 | utopia.lv | "ipconfig -renew" is a sample configuration string for IP change automation. It is not needed for you at this point. Please ignore it.
Please make sure you are using the correct URL to launch the Supermode: http://www.utopia.lv/exchange/?do=supermode. Supermode extension will communicate with the web page only when the correct URL is entered. Another possibility is that extension files are corrupt. Solution: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/unable+to+install+add-ons#Corrupt_extension_files If that does not help, please try making a new profile to run Supermode. 2010-09-13 10:10 | ironman | Hello utopia web master, I'll tried your suggestion.
I've a question: When I get on Utopia web site, the display keeps showing google translate showing translate from Lithuanian to English. How can I switch this off. I also tried and check when I click "start" for supermode visit of the links, my web bar still shows google translate and not moving to what you have stated. Maybe that's why. If only I can switch this google translate display and it'll probably go to the right page. I'm using windows 2000 OS. Only as recently as 3 days ago, I don't have this problem, but once I updtaed to firefox 3.6.9, I keep having this google translate display every time I go to Utopia web page. Now I moved back to 3.6.6, it's still the same. Would appreciate you help. Thanks. |
2010-09-13 10:47 | ironman | Hello again Utopia Web master, I think I may have found the problem.
I follow your suggestion and try to delete the extension file for supermode, i.e. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/unable+to+install+add-ons#Corrupt_extension_files. There was no extension file installed. It only has a folder name supermode under the extension tab. There was no other tabs. Separate question: How big is this extension file? When I tried to installed this extension file to supermode, I noticed the display blinked quickly and show 4.7kb out of 8.0M(<< not sure if I saw this correctly) and then it when to display " restart firefox to complete installation". Hope to hear from you soon, thanks W new post: I've just tried deleting the extension folder and re-installing it. It didn't work. Somehow the extension file is not installed properly. If I click other extension tabs, I can see inof. When I clcik the supermode extension tab, I can only see option1 to look for "ipconfig -renw" file or option2: C:/my new ipconfig. A question: how come now every time I go to Utopia main web page, it has the "Google translate" page? How can I switch this off please? Thanks again for your help. |
2010-09-14 21:40 | utopia.lv | Please try creating a new Firefox profile.
I think Google translate pops up because you have Google Toolbar installed. Haven't tested it myself. Supermode extension installation takes around 8 kb. Supermode extension has only one option that can be changed - if you see it I think Supermode is installed properly, but something else is blocking it. |
