Not sure what use utopia will be unless going for the highest leveled pet of which there isn't a ranking list either. I will ask the admin when he gets on if utopia is allowed.

| 2010-12-31 02:51 | bluebell_rose | Can a limit be put on the links? The server is getting too much traffic and we just got a complaint from our host about the heavy traffic. Much appreciated. Links only require 70 hits to reach adult. I think a limit of 100 would suffice.

| 2011-01-05 07:20 | des43t | A mod has brought this to the attention of Uto, the site owner. He will look at it the next time he stops in, but it may be a few days. If it's a big problem, we could disable the links until he sets a limit -- would you like us to do that?
Meanwhile, I checked, and currently there are only 6 links registered here on the Utopia Exchange. If each link gets about 5000 visits per day, that would be about 30,000 page views per day. Is that enough to upset the host? Uto often points out that the exchange does not download the whole webpage, so that should also limit the traffic to the host. Not that a limit isn't a good idea, I'm just wondering whether something else besides Utopia Exchange could be contributing excess traffic. Or is it just a very limited hosting plan? Des |
