| 3 Cities - different visit count ?? | |

got a lil confused from the visit count i see lately for my links. I have 2-3 Links saved on my profile and run SM many times the day with automation. Now when i take a look at the visits they recieve there are differences up to 1000 visits between these Links. How can this happen ??? I don't think that the *skip competitor cities* feature can cause such a big difference. Even cities listed next to my main link, in the Links Toplist and playing in the same country i do, get round about 1000 visits more each day. I tried it with different combinations of links the last few days and it's always the same...my main link got 800-1000 less visits than any other link i added. So is it a bug or something else ... i'm confused. |

I sometimes get confused too. Nevertheless, this is the most transparent exchange site of all. :-) I’m sorry I can’t help you. I can give you my stats to compare with. I have 1 city and support another - both in the top 50. Here is the visit count for the last 7 days [new to older] mine: 3/June>5332>4834>5205>5242>5288>4198>5254 other: 3/June>5437>4878>5203>5226>5300>4199>5243 [subject to memory] When I have supported a 3rd city with it in at position 1100 or so, I think there was a loss of about 500 visits. |

Your links get almost the same number of visits. If you like, I can add [for 72 hours] your city to my list to see if that makes any difference. |

It's: tinas-hmcity.myminicity.com ...but i don't think so. I have checked the statistics of all Top 25 cities from the Top 100 Links list and some more down to rank 100 and every link there got more visits than mine. Right now my first city is 500 visits behind my second one and it's only 7.20 hrs after server midnight, so i still think there must be something wrong. |

Well if nobody else has any idea i think i give up and have to live with it... |
| 2011-06-06 00:46 | Orchid | When I inquired about the same thing several years ago, I was told that because many of those that use Utopia, do not visit all the links, some only visit 10% of the links to get their city registered for the next 72 hours, because of that and where things fall on the list, not all cities get the same amounts and some visit 40% of the links, to register their 2 links, etc I know Uto uses a formula based on how many a person visits, for instance since you are a multi IP user, you get many more links then my cities 3, 4, and 5. I have had as much as a 1,000 visit difference between my top link and bottom link. |
| 2011-06-06 01:12 | TinaX | Thx Orchid, i understand what you mean, but both links are in the Top 20 Links and so even if some ppl only visit 100 Links i should get 1 for each Link.
It's said: Link Top 100 *Determines order in which links are visited* ... if this is still the way Utopia works. If the links were visited randomly and not in order of the Links List i could understand the differences, well and i am sure there are always some links skipped but shown as visited, just not such a big difference i see in the last few days/weeks. Don't get me wrong, it is not the number of clicks i don't get bothering me, cause that's not so important for me anymore, but i wanna know what's wrong there or not ... is it a bug or am i doing something wrong ?? Curiosity killed the cat i know, but i am always curious ;-) |

Tina: I have made a monthly comparison with my totals. It seems the last 10 months are within the statistical norm. There is a significant difference for the months of March & April. The following is the total difference from my visits, as per: March first>9454<>13804<>735<>1428<>2442<>3127<>4382<>18<>-2282<>2128<>1566<>-1470 |

Maybe Uto should take a look at it ... if there is anything wrong. Oh and yes ... i took another look at the statistics and it really started in March. The months before the visits were almost at the same level. |

Whenever I have compared my visits with top 10 people; [kra, Des] the range has always been ± 50 I’m supporting you from 2 accounts and you figure is now; 1713 visits <> my 2?2386?2387 Would you please tell me your net plan speed, Tina? Reason; I’m faster at other places, even though here, people have an x4/8 advantage over me :-( |

@zgeek: What should my speed have to to with the results here? The most visits you get are from other ppl running Supermode so even if my own visits were skipping for my link there would be only a difference from 200-300 the day, cause thats the number of rounds i do on normal days here. (not yesterday ond today) I don't get it *lol* I have so called DSL 6000 and run Supermode in x16 Mode ... not faster cause i run an Autosurf Site the same time |

For the 2 links I currently see on your profile they are ranked 14 and 15th on this site which means most people should be visiting them anyway so they should be some of the first links visited. This would be true if the links are visited in top link order which I think they still are. We also had a problem with people who do not use supermode and only use pop ups. The pop ups are displayed for 10 seconds only and people with a poor internet connection might not visit one city opposed to the other. Where supermode is concerned there is not a simple reason to why different links get a different amount of visits. The issue has been around since the start of the new site. Utopia might be able to add more information when he sees this as I cannot remember how the exchange works, as its been a long time since I answered this question :D For me, my first link the one on the left gets slighty more than the one on the right, but it is negligible. | 2011-06-07 09:29 | utopia.lv | I've been contacted about this issue multiple times and, as Dan said, it exists from the beginning. Sometimes it might get worse and usually the problem dissapears after some time.
I haven't found confirmed reason for visits not being even and I have looked over the exchange's functions several times without finding anything that could affect visit count. Only explanation I can think of is that Myminicity uses load balancing and cities are hosted on different servers. Servers that have more load (or overload) will produce more skips. More skips equal to less visits. I could collect the information about the skipped links from Supermode extension, but it would require reprogramming functions that work very well now, could introduce new bugs, would produce extra upload traffic to the server and extra load on database. If there is enough pressure I will do that :-). |

Like i said: I was only wondering what's going on and it doesen't really bother me to get less visits on one link. It's my oldest link and the newer one gets the full load. Maybe i should contact Motion Twin and ask them to move my city to one of the faster servers *lol* Nahhh...it's OK ... THX again :) |

Sorry Tina! ?The above confusion was all about me… not you. LoL I’m trying to figure out, after going from 500Kbps to 7000kbps, why I have no visit speed improvement here. To that end, I’m making comparisons with other people here. It’s odd, that I have the same visit speed on another site, when comparing with a person from here - of the same speed. Here, the other person is at least 400% quicker on a wireless connection. :-( My first task; is to rule out my ISP throttling/load sharing their overseas cable. |
