I can't get my links to work

gethsamane	I'm trying to get my links started but when I press 'Start' it tells me to allow popups. I say 'OK' but then it tells me that popups aren't enabled and that my clicks won't count so now don't have any clicks so I can use this for one of my games. What should I do? Thank for your help.

	Please tell us the browser you're using, gethsamane. Did you do a fresh of the page after pressing ok? zgeek

gethsamane	Browser? Like internet explorer? I think I'm using Window 9 but I'm not too sure. I'm not that computer savy unfortunatly. I tried to hit refresh after I pressed ok for the pop ups to work and it still isn't working. What other kind of information can I give to you?

zgeek	Okay, gethsemane. Sorry for my typo on refresh. :-) It appears you have Internet explorer 9 as your web browser. I use Firefox, and may be a bit rusty with my IE 9 advice. Using FireFox and supermode is the quickest/best way to use this site � as per this link: http://utopia.lv/exchange/?do=faq Anyway, I will give you advice based on your browser of choice:- When you start Utopia, you should see click ok for popups and a ribbon down the bottom - with an options box. Click allow on the options box. Please tell me if this starts the visits for you?

gethsamane	Everytime I press 'OK' for allowing popups I get this message: (!!!) Popups NOT enabled. Now running in DEMO mode. Visits will not be counted! And I do get the message to allow popups and I do say 'OK' but for some reason it's still not working.

Orchid	Okay, I was able to figure out the problem. I have a new computer with IE 9 which I don't use, but had not changed any settings yet. On IE9 eventhough you allow pop ups, you have to go to the little wheel on the upper left hand side, in the drop down menu click Internet Options, then go to Privacy on the tabs, then you have to type in Utopia.lv/exchange and allow. Then it will work for you.

zgeek	Thank you Orchid I was reluctant to give anymore advice � because, I heavily customise my browsers:- therefore what I�m seeing, might not be what they are seeing. People may also have the the yellow ribbon pop up blocker notification tool bar, inadvertently switched off. It normally would show up above the taskbar. I was trying to find a nice tutorial on the net for gethsamane - they were all for older versions of IE I think gethsemane will need to also load Flash and Pics ActiveX plugin as the big MMC cities will crash Adobe Flash Player. At least, that was my experience when I did a run on IE.

Orchid	When I was in pop up mode on IE9, I got the constant pop up that my newly updated Adobe had script errors, I got as many of those as I did pop ups. I actually tried to figure out the problem last night, but there were no new links available each time I checked, so I waited until this morning. I had the pop up box come up asking if I wanted to allow pop up's and I checked that yes I did, but it was not enough to fix the problem. I had to actually go in and change the settings and of course I wasn't familiar with IE since I never use it, but managed to figure it out finally.

gethsamane	You guys were so helpful. I even did what the tutorial told me to do and what Orchid suggested but I'm still having problems. I keep getting this yellow star with a red '!' in it and it still tells me that I'm running in demo mode. sighs I feel like I've been defeated but I'm not giving up determined stance I shall conqure and fix all issues. Wish me luck. If there's any other suggestions that you guys might have, I will be eternally greatfull for all help.

Orchid	Have you gone into tools on IE 9 and manually added utopia/lv.exchange into the exemption line? Is it possible for you to download firefox? and then use Supermode? Do you have chrome on your computer?

gethsamane	Orchid, yes to your first question. I even deleted it and re-entered it to see if there was some kind of typo but still no go. As for your other questions, no. I havn't done any of those other things and I don't have chrome. Although I've been wondering about it lately.
