2009-05-12 20:49 | iryska | Helllo, I have seen that you lift a ban from Dnadpts.
Kitsune (founder of Dnadopts) told us that it is ok now to set up links here now - cause you put a restriction - only 200 clicks a day on ne DNAdopts link. Well, for me it is more than 200 clicks, and I heard from my friends that they even got 500-900 clicks a day on theirs... So I was wondering - maybe you could add something like quicker link delete option for DNAdopts (like after only 5 hours, not 20, or sth like that) or autodelete link after it gets 200 clicks, cause if not I dont think we will be allowed to post our lnks here any more... The autodelete option would be great! I would really like to post my DNAdopts here - it is a great site!, so please consider my plea. With kind regards, iryska |
2009-05-12 22:32 | utopia.lv | Sorry, it is not possible to reduce time required to delete links. Also automatic removal of the link in less than 3 days is not possible at the moment.
Visits go over the limit because of delay that happens between user receives links to visit from the server, visits it and reports visit back to the server. In between it is possible that visit limit is already reached. Visit count may go over the cap for around 10 - 70 visits depending on user activity. And it is not possible to get 500-900 visits from this exchange like your friends told you. Please PM me the friend's pet link and I will verify that. I reduced daily visit limit or DNAdopts links to 100 (previously 200). It is up to a user to remove the link after the adoptable has grown up. Links are automatically removed in 72 hours if they are not renewed. |
2009-05-12 23:07 | iryska | oh. thanks for your reply.
For me it is around 235 clicks per link - it is not so bad now. One of my friends say it was only for a while that he received so many clicks - so he deleted the link (so if he could delete the link - maybe he was clicking for a few days not just one day) Thank you for resolving that matter. I was just scared that we may not be able to post our links here - and I realy like this site! It is a great help to my pets and to me. I hope there wont be any problems with that anymore. PS. Maybe you should set the limit for 150? (cause it is not far away from 200 - the clicks amount needed for a pet on DNAdopts to mature)? But honestly - anything that allows us to post DNAdopts here would be great! About Kitsune - she told that she would check that personaly - so if she hasnt contacted you so far - there is not a big problem, and I was just exagerating a bit. Sorry for causing any trouble. Thank you once again. |
2009-05-15 14:18 | utopia.lv | iryska, you were right. It was possible sometimes to go over visit limit, because of difference in dates between this server and DNAdopts server.
Visited link statistics are stored with this server date +1 hour. But verification was made using DNAdopts server time. In the periods when both dates were different (for example this server date May 15, DNAdopts May 14) visit limit did not work. Bug is fixed now and from now on it will use only local date for verification. Utopia |
2009-05-16 00:51 | iryska | Thank you so much. I hope everything will be fine now! |
2009-05-16 16:20 | Dia | Does that mean that the limit for visits on a single DNAdoptable is 100 per 72 hours? Because I clicked somewhere around 2100 links, and my adoptables have around 115 clicks on them. |
2009-05-16 18:10 | Nugget | 100 per server day, so 300-400 per 72 hours depending on what time of the day you add the link on.
If the bug-fix has stopped the extreme over-clicking, perhaps the limit can be raised to 200/day again to allow breedables to fully grow? |
2009-05-16 18:59 | iryska | For me the limit is 100 (110-120 actually why? see the previous replies to this topic) a day. But since we can delete links only after 20 hours - it is 2 days of clicking so even when limit was 100 per day - I always got more than 200 before I could delete my adoptable anyway...
I am glad that this matter was resolved cause I have whole bunch of growable pets waiting in a queue to be levelled up! Thanks a lot utopia for me it is amazing now. ;-) |
2009-05-26 01:03 | Gecko | DNAdopts ended up getting too busy for it's server, I think, so it needs to be temporarily disabled. It's inaccessible at the moment. |
2009-05-29 13:45 | iryska | Kitsune is working on that. And I think it does not have to be disabled. At least she didnt demand that. Just now there are no pictures when levelling pets - not to overload server.
I just finished levelling for today - and the site was running smothly... so I think it can stay this way... In my opinion of course.... |
2009-06-23 00:38 | Andybot | Could you possibly raise the limit to 200 please? |
2009-06-23 09:14 | utopia.lv | Looks like DNAdopts server load problems are fixed and the website is working good.
Visit cap increased to 250. :) |
2009-06-23 23:11 | Andybot | YAY!
Thank you utopia! :) |
