| 2009-06-19 19:35 | cumm1ng.myminicity.com | Hi, I noticed a change a little while back in the way the totals are tallied but never mentioned it. I just observed something odd that might explain the change.
While running the exchange from multiple ip's, I checked the "Multi-IP top" page, and the totals are actually *decreasing* I realize that in the past, the 7 day window revolved around the server midnight time, as in the totals would accrue for days 1 through 7, and once day 8 began, day 1 would be dropped, and it would keep counting from there, thus the only noticeable decrease would happen at server midnight, when the 7th oldest day was dropped and the newest day started adding to the totals. Now it appears that this might have changed to a 168 hour sliding window, as in the totals represent the exact past 7 days of time, up to the second. Is this accurate? and if so, how could the total in the "Today" column decrease within the period of midnight to 23:59:59 of one server day? (I know this probably seems trivial, but I just have a passion for understanding how procedures work ;-) |

No it does not use sliding window to calculate visit count for the last 7 days. If you're using proxy servers to make visits and somebody after you gets hold of that server, then he (she) can change the name and visit count will go to their name in the Multi-IP Top. Though links can be deleted after 20 hours after addition. If this is not the case and you do not use proxy servers, please let me know and I will investigate it. Warm regards, Utopia |
