IP Change Automation
cant change ip | |
2008-12-12 06:10 | craksy | for some reason i cant change my IP... i dont know if i am doing something wrong, or its something about my router or something :S
anyway here are some details: i am running on a 10mbt DSL, on a ZyXEL router. i am connected to the router with a LAN cable. i dont have access to the router administrator page, since my father thinks ill let hackers into our computer -.-' i have tried to change my dynamic IP by running ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew and by letting my computer automaticly asign me a new IP. i have also tried to restart our router, but nothing seems to work! do you know, if i am doing something wrong, or do you have a solution for my problem? in advance: Thanks -Craksy |
2008-12-12 07:40 | hellowien | Sorry to tell you, that it seems to be fact, that you have a static IP. So you won't be able to change IP. |
2008-12-12 08:38 | craksy | because of my ISP? or can you change it to dynamic yourself? |
2008-12-12 09:05 | utopia.lv | If ISP gave you static IP then you can't do anything to change IP from your side. You can call them and ask the details about your connection, or look them up in the contract.
If IP change was possible for you, then keep in mind, that real IP address is located on the router's external port and you have to get the access to router's management in order to automate IP address change. |
2009-09-19 02:55 | chafilandia.myminicity.com | Don't despair. Perhaps you still have a chance to change your IP. Very few ISP use 100% static IP´s. However I need some info:
Is there another device next to the ZyXEL router (for instance a cable modem)? What OS are you using? (Linux/Windows/Solaris/BeOS/BSD) Do you already know the IP and mask your computer is using? Regards, MainCore (aka chafilandia) |
