Bugs

Problem with Supermode & Firefox 3.5
2009-07-28 23:55
gyxFrom a week I have a problem with Supermode addon and Firefox 3.5. I have the latest versions of both.
Visiting cities with supermode is very very slow for me and SKIPS (in red) almost all links.
Here is a screenshot: http://pics.xxfx.org/images/gyx/screenshot.png

Your help and solving of this problem will be appr?ciated!

gamamewI have the same problem since a week ago, I disabled supermode, but the standard visitor is too slow.

I hope something can be done to fix the issue.

trackI have the same experience, figured it was because of the MMC crapout that it was going slowly. But even now that MMC is back it's getting stuck after maybe 4-6 links on supermode. I've reinstalled the supermode addon, but that hasn't helped. Haven't tested an earlier version of Firefox to see if it's a compatibility bug. Currenty running FF 3.5.1.

KRA92maybe with making a new Firefox Profile, you can fix it.

But i'm not sure.

gyxHeh, at least I'm not the only one with this kind of problem. :)
KRA92, I dont think this will work...
2009-07-30 09:57
KRA92well only if you try you can know it ;-)

i'm at the moment using comp. of my father and he has:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; de; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1

that means Firefox 3.5

i have 2 profiles. One standard for everything and an other just for Utopia. With the standard profile i can't make any visits, don't ask me why, but with the special Utopia Profile it's running well.

Help to do a new profile:

1. open cmd.exe
2. tip there : start firefox.exe -profilemanager and clicks enter
3. click "create new profile" and gives him a name
4. open the utopia site and install Supermode and let run the exchange

I hope it helps :)

gyxYep, for me it helps.
I've just installed Firefox Portalble 3.5.1 with Supermode and for now everything works fine. :)

For those with the same problem download Firefox Portable 3.5.1 here -> http://hotfile.com/dl/9431428/d84e868/FirefoxPortable_3.5.1_English.paf.exe.html

KRA92nice to hear, that it works for you :D
it makes me happy :)

gyxYeah, but the main question remains... why is this bug?
2009-07-31 11:51
trackNew profile works for now. I think that as you visit more links and the places.sqlite grows that it slows down visits. The file is over 20MB on my "main" profile. On the new one it's 150KB so far. Will see if it keeps working well. Thanks for the tip :)
2009-07-31 21:33
gamamewDeleting and creating a new places.sqlite file doesn't solve the problem.

The utopia extension is the problem not the FF, I don't want being deleting my profile every month, week or whatever... meanwhile I'll continue with the turtly visitor :S

EDIT: Appears the problem is a conflict with other(s) extension(s), I disabled all other ones and the supermode runs as always. A little research to find the guilty...

EDIT 2: Found!!! The problem is with "No Script" extension.
2009-07-31 23:57
trackVery nice thinking gamamew, after disabling the no-script it runs indeed as before.

TinaXI have always used NoScript but after the latest Updates for it it causes many many problems.
It slows down FF dramatically after a while when you work with many tabs, there are conflicts with other add-ons, FF opens tabs for no reason etc etc...even whitelisting fav. sites won't help.
Well i uninstalled it and i know from the forum there that many users have problems.

Anyways...if you use an extra profile for Utopia only, without any extensions than Supermode it should work fine.
