I need additional info on game: Short description of game process. Are there only dragon links available or also links to scroll like it is at DragonCave? Does dragons accept unlimited number of clicks? Can the same person view several dragons and all clicks will be counted? |
| 2008-12-12 22:05 | Eilnys | Yeah. Registering is down since they recently changed servers.
One person can visit multiple dragons, in fact it is encouraged. The gist of the game is pretty much gathering people to visit your dragon in order to boost their growth rate. You have to actually visit the dragon's page for the visit to count. You can only have one dragon at a time, so there is no scroll involved; and there's no worry about too many visits killing your dragon. :) I do think that there's a limit to clicks per day, but it seems set pretty high. I've never reached it. |

When I was using Yarold's for my dragonadopters links, I found that 40 clicks a day was enough to keep them happy and have the small boost in growth rate. (The boost is maybe 2%). The only thing extra views count towards is MAYBE the in game ranking, which I usually don't care about anyways. Views from others is not needed to grow the dragons at all. It is the owner's visits and time.
Now don't get me wrong. I use Utopia to get views for my dragons on Dragonadopters. All I am saying is that 2000+ clicks a day is a waste of time and bandwidth. Owners will still see the benefits at only 100 (or even 50) clicks a day. (It would also help ease the strain on the Dragonadopters server since they had to turn off registration again due to it.) |

The limit on the visits makes my dragons lonely, because the reset for Utopia is different then Dragonadopters. Yes, it may be true that the only need 200 visits a day, but that does not happen if people are clicking at Utopia's reset, it does not count for Dragonadopters, because to the game, that IP has already visited. I hope I am sounding okay. I just recently got a new egg, and it was growing very slow, and I noticed right away that my DrA links were only receiving 200 visits? I was very upset about this. I had to go to a different exchange to make my dragons grow again. |

Just because someone else doesn't, doesn't mean I can't. Now I have to use another click exchange which means more work. |
| 2009-03-16 02:51 | Gecko | If your dragon's stat for other's visits is already at "very popular," then you only need 25 or so a day, maybe less, to keep it at max. Getting thousands of views a day will NOT increase your rankings, as there is an extremely low visits cap/day. Time and growth items help rank, which is based entirely off of growth, more. You can also find an increased rank points necklace.
Past that, thousands of visits a day are just bragging rights, so there's little to worry about... |

Let me ask this though the visits are just bragging rights technically myminicity/miniville is a waste of time that should be reduced/removed as well right? I mean all we are doing is producing more traffic for them... Besides doesn't this site just download the html of each site? That's 10kb per dragon... I understand that this site generates a lot of visits BUT sites like Yarold's and hydra easily generate more simply because all of the images get downloaded as well which is at least 10-20x more data across the wire per visit. |
| 2009-03-16 07:06 | Solrayne | Geeze, I used this site specificly for my DA links only, and because it would generate 2-3k visits daily, regardless of whatever limit is set at the DA site. Was even about to donate so I could have a 4th + 5th slot added for my 4th egg I just got, and room for the 5th in a few weeks. Now it all pointless with setting a limit at just 200. That low of a number can be done at any of the other exchange sites....and wouldn't have to deal with the huge memory hogging + FF glitches this one causes with each re-start. That extra bit of aggravation was worth it before, but not really now. What a shame.... |

If we are gonna have a 200 click cap could we have something that would be similar to the myminicity links that would click any one of our 1-5 dragons? For example, I have 3 dragons so I would add all 3 links which would only take up 1 link space and each click on that "link" would pick one of the dragons at random until each of them had their 200 or whatever number of clicks. I love utopia and have used it since... I don't even know when (sometime in early beta I think) I'm sure it has helped my city grow a lot and I would love to see it help my other links just as much as well. |

Not only that, but minicities still get 2K views while we with dA dragons only get 200? Then why do we have to view as many links? This really doesn't seem as fair. :/ |
| 2009-03-17 20:56 | leoak | I'm agreeing with and joining the protest. I'm one of the people that do more with my dragons than get them a few clicks a day. It took a while, but I eventually got within the top 100 rankings. Unfortunately, I couldn't get out of the mid 70s and 80s until I posted the links here. I got as high as 55 on the rankings before the cap. Now, I've slipped down between 66-68 and I'll probably fall even lower.
I used both Hydra and Yarold's, but came to a point where I couldn't get any higher. This site really does make a difference for those wanting to compete in ranks. When DA first open, the owner said there was going to be more features to the game, but at current, competing for highest ranking is the only thing to do. The game isn't much fun if all you're doing is feeding your dragon 2-3 times a week and visiting once or twice a day. |

I did not want Dragonadopters disabled for the same reason. As of now, Dragonadopters server handles visits normally, so I think it's pretty safe to leave the setting at 1500 visits a day per link. When link is added, it is verified for existance on the game server. As Gecko said, dragonadopters.com was experiencing lag and therefore links could not be verified and added. The error message should be clear in this case. |

And they were both added on the same day. I'm not using Utopia any different then I did before the cap was put in place and worked for me before.
